Our Management Practices & General Info

We prefer a natural healthcare approach to raising livestock and only use drug intervention if necessary.  Our goats were tested prior to purchase and are free of CL, CAE, and Johne's.  As we have a closed herd and do not participate in shows or Linear Appraisal where our goats could potentially be at risk through contact with other herds or individual goats, we have not performed additional testing.  We do not routinely vaccinate and encourage buyers to do their own research and make their own decision on whether to vaccinate after purchase.  We feed Chaffhaye and a local non-GMO goat feed to our pregnant and lactating does and the herd is always provided with hay and free choice baking soda and Sweetlix Meat Maker minerals.

Kids are dam-raised and will only be bottle fed if necessary.  Kids will be available to pick-up when they reach 20 pounds (generally at 8-10 weeks).  All kids will be disbudded and registered kids will be tattooed prior to leaving the farm.  If a buyer is unable to pick up on the scheduled date, a boarding fee of $15 per day will be required.

We go to great lengths to ensure our goats are healthy and well cared for and expect all animals we sell to be healthy at time of pick-up.  Because we cannot control the environment or management practices of buyers, we cannot provide any guarantee for the health of any animal once it leaves our farm.  Also, due to limited space and our closed herd policy, we are under no obligation and will not accept any animal back into our herd once it has left.  If a buyer needs to rehome any goat that was purchased from us, we will be happy to provide guidance.

Reservations and Payment

We want to ensure any goat we sell will be given exceptional, loving care; therefore, we will only accept reservations from potential new buyers after assessing their interest and experience in caring for goats.  Once a buyer is vetted and a kid is reserved, a non-refundable deposit of $100 will be required for all doelings, bucklings, and wethers.  The deposit must be paid within 7 days to hold the reservation.  Should a kid become sick or injured and unavailable for sale, the buyer's deposit will be fully refunded.   In addition, we reserve the right to retain any kid of our choosing regardless of reserved status.  If we retain a previously reserved kid, 100% of the buyer's deposit will be returned.
